The idea for the QWIKFOTO system was conceived after encountering the antiquated and costly process involved in taking school photos. Each parent was sent a form to fill-in with their name, address and credit card details. If you don't want to use your credit card, you had to put cash in the envelope provided. A decision had to be made as to which package to buy and what size prints to be printed before seeing the photos.

On the day of the photo shoot, the Photographer would appear with not only the usual photographic gear but also computers, cabling, stacks of printed bar codes, bar code readers, and all the staff to operate this equipment.

So, in mid 2023, I started work on the Qwikfoto system with the idea of eliminating the need for bar codes, bar code scanners, student lists, computers, forms and envelopes, etc. The end result is a system that frees the school administration from handling boxes of envelopes and gives the Photographer the freedom to take a photo of any student in any order. All the administration and associated costs have been eliminated and those cost savings passed-on to the consumer.
